How to persevere when you’re struggling

How to persevere when you’re struggling

Someone I care about very much is really struggling these days. A series of choices have led them to a very dark place.

This person is angry, bitter, and lost. And what they’ve forgotten is that they are an incredible human being who is loved by so many people – especially me.

But I get it. I’ve been there before.
Lost.
Scared.
Broken.

How are you doing these days?
How are you feeling inside about your life?
Your choices?

How are you doing physically?
Emotionally?
Financially?

How are you feeling about your future?
Your dreams?

How are the most important relationships in your life doing?

We all go through cycles, we have our “ups and downs.” I’m not talking about that when asking these questions. I’m asking, at your absolute core, how are you doing living your life?

A friend once interviewed the incredibly gifted musician, Michael Franti, for her documentary on the power of one person to change this world. Michael said something so powerful and true in that interview. He said, “If you’re sad, depressed, lonely, overwhelmed by life the best way out of that is to be of service – to give to others.”

He is so right and yet, when we’re down-down, giving to others feels almost impossible.

But I’m telling you, he’s right.

So if you’re going through some stuff these days, if you’re struggling, I just wanted to let you know I get it. I have been there. And every single time you and I have been down these roads, we have ALWAYS come out of it better for it.

It does pass.

And if you’re doing incredible these days then good for you! Keep sharing that light and energy so that others can remember who they really are.

My very best to you.
Always,
Jim
