Nia Peeples is an actress, singer, dancer, host, and author most known for the hit TV series Fame, Walker Texas Ranger, and Pretty Little Liars, as well as films: The North Shore and Return to Lonesome Dove, and for her #1 record, Trouble.
She has hosted shows for MTV and E! as well as the Emmy award winning, Teen Scene.
To say the least, Nia has so much wisdom and advice from her forty-year career in Hollywood and we are thrilled to share her with you.
American actress, singer, dancer, host and author Nia Peeples is most known for hit TV series “Fame, “Walker Texas Ranger” and “Pretty Little Liars”, as well as the movies NORTH SHORE and RETURN TO LONESOME DOVE and her #1 record, Trouble. Peeples hosted a number of shows for MTV and E! as well as the Emmy Award Winning, “Teen Scene”. With her years and experience in the industry, Nia has cemented herself as a part of TV culture and Americana.
Her records earned numerous Billboard and Cashbox awards and nominations including Best Vocals, Best New Artist, Best R&B and Best Video Choreography. She has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award and an International Stunt award for her performance in Paramount’s, HALF PAST DEAD. Nia was featured in People Magazine’s hugely popular 100 Most Beautiful People in the World special edition…at the age of 47.
She was a regular contributor to the online eco conscious magazine Coco Eco Mag and was featured on the cover. Nia has also been an ambassador for Mending Kids International, on the board of World as One, and in 2005 was part of a grassroots organization called SRO, Surf Zone Relief Organization for which she spent a month on the Indian Ocean delivering viable breeding stock, well digging kits, and medical and school supplies to villages off the west coast of Sumatra, hardest hit by the devastating earthquake and tsunami that killed over 250,000 people in south east Asia.
Now, at age 58, Nia is focused on giving back. She has been a spokesperson for The American Heart Association, and had a hand in developing their Go Red For Women campaign, which helped empower women to live their best lives through health and wellness.
More recently, with her youngest child heading off to college and her fourth marriage ending, Nia sold everything and went on a 3 year walkabout to answer the simple soul question “What do you want?” That profound journey took her from the beaches of Suva to the hills of Bosnia and Israel, all over Europe and to the mountains of Peru. Now having landed back in LA, Nia completed her first book, The Little Apple Tree. The book is a profound allegory that gently guides you into a deeper understanding of self-love, LOVE, relationships, and the power of honoring your True and Divine Self and the Divinity in others; with which comes the inherent harmony of expressing from that state of being. Since the release of her book, a group of award winning animators in Italy were inspired to create a passion project short animated film which is currently in pre-production.
In 2018 Nia set out on a 3 week Radical Heart Road Trip, driving across 10 states to workshop The Little Apple Tree with junior high and high school students and their parents, as well as with 5th graders. Since those workshops, The Little Apple Tree has been adopted into several classrooms and a few different schools by teachers who have been inspired to write new curriculum around it, perform school plays and use it as a source for reading buddies with kindergartners. Schools who have implemented Peeples’ book into their curriculum have seen profound results from doing so:
- 68% improved reading scores
- 86% improved math scores
- The principal now closes each intercom announcement with “In case no one has told you today, you are loved.”
- Teachers are implementing a 1minute meditation between subjects.
- Substantial increase in compassionate action between students, their teachers, and their parents.
Now Peeples is a keynote speaker on motivation and inspiration, having just given her first Tedx talk: “The Truth About Empowerment,” and is working on her second book, Confessions of a Serial Monogamist.
On top of her writing she is launching an inspirational online community called Human Harmonics which invites and supports people into alignment with their true nature which she describes as “The frequency of Love; through beauty, sacred geometry and the science behind consciousness and ‘miracles.’” www.humanharmonics.life/
Though Nia is now fully focused on giving back, she has always been one to give voice to the need for Self-Love. While raising her teenage daughter she saw a great need to bring women of all ages a more holistic approach to beauty through her series: “More Than Skin Deep” The New Philosophy of Beauty.
“More Than Skin Deep” is a series of Online Hangouts designed with the specific purpose of providing women of all ages the tools they need to express their truest beauty, inside and out. Combining equal elements of health, beauty, fitness and philosophy, Nia will provide a very personal, interactive experience for her audience, revealing what up until now has been the secret to maintaining an authentic beauty that she insists, “…is more than skin deep.” The online hangouts will also feature many of Nia’s celebrity friends and experts. Together they’ll share personal tips and take questions and comments from her fans and viewers in ‘real time.’
“My teenage daughter and her friends watch me play mom to a “beautiful, perfect” teenage daughter on a TV show filled with nothing but “beautiful” teens. The girls watch these shows, then struggle with self esteem. And so it begins. It’s time we take a holistic approach to beauty, one that takes into account our desire to know what works on the outside and our need to have it together on the inside. We need a philosophy of beauty that keeps us in our prime so year after year we’re the most beautiful we can be, and on a deeper level the most beautiful we’ve ever been. THAT”S what ‘More Than Skin Deep’ is all about.” Nia Peeples
In short, she is experiencing the power and joy of standing in integrity and alignment with her deepest desire, which is simply to flow LOVE by living it out loud, and empowering others to do the same. www.niapeeples.com/
