How to Take Control Over What You Can, Part 1 of 5

Hey everyone,
Welcome back. This week I’d like to talk about the importance of taking control of the things that you have control of as an actor.
There are so many things that are outside our control: a break, a friend in a high place, who you know, that kind of stuff. There’s so much nepotism in this industry.
That’s how it is. For the things that you do have control over, it’s really imperative that you take control of them. We’re going to talk over the next several episodes about this.
Today I’d like to talk about just the physical aspect. I remember I couldn’t afford gym dues or gym fees. This was absolutely the case for a stretch.
So what I’m about to say may be difficult for some of you, but it’s about the importance of being in shape physically, as best you can to do what you can to be in as quality of shape as possible.
I’m not talking about some six pack ab body ripper guy. I’m just talking about feeling good.
Again, I realize gym fees are expensive, but maybe you could just get in a good walking or running regimen, which doesn’t cost a thing. There are a lot of online video workouts, where it’s like having a gym in your home for free.
There are just so many things you can do to keep your physical instrument in shape, and I just want to be a big advocate of that, because as we all know, the better you feel about yourself, the better you feel about yourself, so when you walk in a room, you exude that.
You have that energy, that positivity going on. If anyone watching this is out of shape physically, you know how that feels too.
And believe me, I’ve been there too. So over the next several weeks, let’s keep advancing this theme. So for today, for this week, there it is.
See what you can do between now and next week to begin getting in better shape in some way – some little thing, some step, towards getting your instrument in better shape. Okay? See you next week.
